The IOU would appreciate your generosity in supporting our goals and vision:

Ornithology is a global discipline addressing all levels of biology from ecosystems to molecules, linking basic and applied research, and nurturing education and outreach. The IOU supports, promotes, and advances avian biology by:

• disseminating ornithological research and knowledge;
• interacting with and supporting other scientific organizations, foundations, and institutions;
• stimulating and strengthening locally-based research that includes the participation of amateur ornithologists and citizen scientists;
• cultivating collegial, collaborative and mutually supportive relationships among ornithologists internationally, without restrictions imposed by cultural or political differences;
• supporting economically disadvantaged colleagues and students in avian biology; and
• fostering knowledge transfer between fundamental research and applied sciences, such as conservation and avian health sciences.
